1. Cerebrum – (consisting of the two cerebral hemispheres) A small part of the cerebrum determines what we hear. Another section interprets what we see.
2. Cerebellum – Controls the posture of the body and its movement in relationship to its surroundings.
3. Medulla – Controls the heart beat and breathing of the person (leads to spinal cord).
4. Pituitary Gland – Just below (and connected to) Hypothalamus. Produces 9 different hormones.
The brain can be described as the “central computer” of the body. The rest of the “wiring” is spread throughout the body in the form of neurones that convey electrical signals around the body.
